Ensuring the highest level of personnel safety while working on a substation requires the equipment to be visibly disconnected and grounded. With the ARM PEMCO DS-15KV-DE this can be easily achieved by simply pulling the handle. In addition, paring a medium voltage vacuum breaker assembly with a de energized disconnect switch means the addition of a protection relay can allow the DS-15KV-NL to protect the substation just like a standalone breaker, at a fraction of the cost. Once the substation is de-energized, maintenance personnel can operate the handle of the disconnect switch moving the connection from the source position to a grounded position. Once in the grounded position, a lock can be installed and maintenance can safely be performed on the substation. AMR PEMCO’s design is electrically and mechanically interlocked with the vacuum contactor to allow for de-energized operation. An added test switch allows for periodic testing according to monitor test sequence.
